Firstly, I never thought I would come back abd post here. Bur I'm currently on box rest due to foal soon and a mixture of hormones and missing my horse has me reminiscing about old times.

So since I was last here a lot has changed! The biggest change is myself so I am a lot more private now about my day to day life. However, having looked through some old threads I though I would post an update.

Sadly, I love Delicia a few years ago now. We did everything we could but she needed surgery and I didn't want to put her through it. So we picked a lovely autumnal day and sad our goodbyes. Still to this day the hardest decision I've ever had to make and I still feel guilty to this day and miss her terribly. It was the right decision, I was guided by the vets and she had some serious health concerns. I stayed with her throughout and only last year scattered her ashes where Harley is now. I feel her presence when I am in that area on the meadow, so it is comforting.

I am very fortunate that I was able to breed Harley from her. He is now 6 (can you believe it!) He is such a smart little horse and really is a mini dee! Currently I'm due to foal myself so I have him out on loan to a good friend. We are taking our time slowly bringing him on. He's only been backed two years and I'm waiting for his body to develop a bit more before asking too much. We have done a few shows and he's won all his classes. I've no doubt he will be a fab dressage horse but I must say I miss hacking him out more than anything.

For myself outside the horse world, a lot has happened over the years. Some very bad and mostly good. I have a new outlook on life and had a hard look at myself and my own flaws. If I told myself all those years ago I would be where I am now, I wouldn't have thought it possible. Life has a funny way of working out sometimes.

Anyways, enough boring talk, picture time :)

Welcome back!
Very sorry to hear that you lost your lovely Dee. She was certainly a special one! Great to see she has left you with such an amazing legacy with Harley. He is stunning!

She was a special one. I miss her so much every day, its like an ache that doesn't go away. But Harley is incredible and so cheeky :) and he inherited her ears lol IMG_20200716_202212_616.jpg
