Well attached I hope is a link to the video that some of you wanted to see of our lesson that made me feel so happy since I had lost my leg, its taken me all over the weekend to buck up the courage to post it, as I have pulled myself to bits when I watched it !! It goes on a bit so do not watch it all gets boring lol, and my friend is not that good with the camera you might feel a bit sick in places with the zoom in and out shots. Its not that special but after all we both have been through I think its a start. Have another lesson this Thursday so onwards and upwards. Please do not be to hard on us .

Hope the link works

As said before any new viewers do you know another above knee amputee x

Link doesn't work I'm afraid.

You'll need to upload it onto Youtube, Facebook or Photobucket or similar and post the link to that.

Yes, I do know of another above the knee amputee who not only rides but competes in the UK and Europe against able bodied riders at a very high level and his horses are certainly not what you'd term a novice ride.

He has two artificial legs, one for walking and one for riding ... it's quite common to see his lorry parked up at a showground with a leg out of each of the side windows of his cab.

He used to live in Kent/Sussex sort of area, not sure where he is right now, but I think I may be able to track him down if you were interested.

Great that you are out there riding again and enjoying it.

I believe we all have our own challenges from time to time, one way or another whether it be the horse you ride and a disparity between your ability/experience and the education level of the horse, or your resources, time /money, or even your mental outlook (nervous, depression etc).

For this reason when you hear about some one riding again despite the difficulties and no doubt frustrations, it helps remind me that what you able able to achieve is only limited by your determination and your attitude. In other words - I should get off my fat arse and stop feeling sorry for myself, making excuses etc.

I have a lovely ISH that has done almost nothing for way too long.
