I'm so pleased for you!

I would look on facebook marketplace and also look to see if their ae going to be any tack sales near you. Also car bootsales, you'll be amazed at the horsey stuff that can be found at those, especially the more rural ones.

I'd love to see a Blog or Vlog. I used to do it a few years ago, and it was a steep learning curve but your phone is usually more than enough to start off with, but I would pop on amazon and get yourself a cordless microphone as it makes all the difference. If you really get into it, then you can think about buying more expensive vlogging gear. For editing software, most computers will have a basic one already installed.
I might have to get a hat cam, that would be funny! I’m still at the “sh*t I’m on the wrong diagonal” / “I need to stop holding my breath before I pass out” stage!! Could be rather amusing 😂

Hi everyone. I promised some updates, photos and videos etc so I’m putting them on TikTok. I’ve also got a GoPro so I can show everyone what an ANGEL he is to ride for a baby!

Here we are: The Rocky Road

Whoever suggested that name (I can’t remember) you’re a genius! 😝

He’s been home two weeks now. He had a sore back from a poorly fitting saddle so we’ve had the physio out and been doing a lot of groundwork to strengthen his back muscles. But his ridden work starts this week!! Exciting!!!

Thanks to everyone for your support during my wobbles. I’m pretty poor now (especially as the spoilt boy has two brand new fitted saddles) but I couldn’t be more delighted with him! He’s brought such joy to my life! ❤️

At the start of his groundwork and now post physio and after a couple of weeks of being encouraged to use his back muscles and carry himself (rather than being all held together by his rider)! That’s why he was throwing his head a bit when I rode him on our test ride, he didn’t know what to do when I wasn’t holding him up and in! He’s being so good and trying very hard. He had a bit of a belly when I picked him up as hadn’t done much since purchase: I don’t think he’d even been out of the stable tbh. He was grumpy and a bit fat but he’s much happier now. He’s home with me and won’t be going to any other homes! Poor lad has moved five times in twelve months and he’s remained as lovely natured and as eager to please as ever ❤️

Congratulations! 🥳 He’s stunning and looks like a sweet generous horse. 5 homes in 1 year and he’s still sweet and sane…horses amaze me! He’s landed on his hooves with you 🙂

It’s very apt after your mammoth health fight, you find a horse called Rocky! Im sure he’ll always be a champ for you and a reminder that all good things are worth fighting for! 😁😍

What was your daughter's reaction?
He looks lovely..
She didn’t know until I took her to the yard to witness his arrival. I told her we were just popping in…

As Vicki opened the lorry she started to shout “it’s Rocky” and then she collapsed in to my tummy in floods of tears! Vicki let her lead him off the lorry so she had a special moment with him.

She’s started official riding lessons now and the little beggar was trotting around with no reins or stirrups after half an hour! She’s an elite gymnast though so balance and strength comes naturally. She has designs on my pony I know it! I can see a mummy daughter share happening! 🥰

That must have been so emotional.
It really was. It made me cry! She was so full of joy and disbelief that we actually had him show up! 😂 I think she thought I’d chicken out too, and I nearly did as you well know. So many times I thought I’d tell the seller in the morning I couldn’t go through with it, but I couldn’t bring myself to do that either! Especially when the advice on here was a unanimous DO IT! So I did and I’ve not been so happy in years! Poor, but so happy! 🥰

And Rocky is definitely feeling at home and comfy ❤️

What a lovely new horse you have! I hope you have lots of fun with him…. even if you do end up sharing him with your daughter.
That would make it even better! She adores him! She’s a little small for 15.3hh at the mo, but he’s such an angel she can have a little sit. Also she’s growing like a weed so it won’t be long! When she gets to the right height he’ll have a few more miles and a bit more experience under his belt and she will be a more competent rider. 🥰
