Follow up of my plea for help with dressage, as per the above thread. Firstly I'd like to say thanks to all those who commented, it really did help and your advice was beneficial.

Here's the photo's from my Intro A dressage test on 20th October 2012.

It was our first ridden competition after only a few months of Rox being broken. We got (what I think is) a decent score for our first time out of 64.78%, coming second. There were only three competitors in the class mind.... :o

We have since gone onto our second dressage competition on 11th November 2012 riding the Intro B dressage test and got fourth out of nine competitors with a mark of 61.73%.

Here's the photo's from that competition...

I would quite like to get another test in before I turn him away for the winter, but as yet, I have not seen anything.

As you will no doubt appreciate, I am not a dressage rider - far from it - and have a lot to learn! I would like to progress Rox's inhand showing career, and step up to do ridden showing next year. I thought dressage would be a good introduction and starting block for us both.

I'd be pleased if anyone has any advice of how I can improve. Thanks for looking! xx :)

Photos don't work for me :(

Oh sorry about that. I do have my albums on public, so technically anyone should be able to view them. Is anyone else having issues with the links?

You're more than welcome to add me as a facebook friend. However, I appreciate it if you would prefer not to - some people keep friends down to just real life friends. xx :)

Ah stupid thing wanted me to sign in  seen them now. :D he's a stunner, really nice horse and you both looked very smart!

Thank you Showpony. He was bred by Foxisle Stud in Epworth, with their old stallion - who they have since sold and replaced. His dam was a french thoroughbred, and his sire was a traditional coloured. Here's a link to his 'baby' album when he was a foal with his parents and siblings in it.... xx

FfionWinnie, thank you very much! A lot of effort went into scrubbing us up nicely LOL. I washed his mane, tail and legs so he looked half presentable - this time of year washing isn't ideal, so the pampered boy was blow dried dry! He did not think he was pampered - he thought tortured!

I'm not sure if the video links will work, but this is his 'torture'... xx ;)

Thanks Charlie Bucket. That's the best thing I love about dressage - getting the test sheet back. Great to see what you need to work on. I'm planning on doing the same level of test, so at some stage, I'll be able to compare the tests like for like. Admittedly I'm my own worst critic, and I was half disappointed that there wasn't even more critic from the judge! I just want to improve and be as near as perfect as I can be. Xx :)

Thank you very much JenHunt. I managed to warm him in over a longer period for my second test and it really helped. Our free walk needs some serious work, but it's all slowly coming together. He really does try for me, and enjoys his work. xx
