This is the gorjuss boy that had the accident with the trailer in Leeds on Thursday.
as you can see he dosnt look too bad, but is obviously still quite sore.
We still need help with this little man, the owner is out of hospital and is still in a bad way, he is on crutches, hes unable to care for the horse properly at the moment and has limited funds to provide the care he needs. Hes willing to pay the vet bill, but cant affored much for the horses keep, he said the only place hes got for the horse is on the end of a chain which he is very concerend about because the horse needs to be comfortable and hes also damaged his throat so its really not ideal. The man is very gratefull for all the help hes recieved so far and clearly cares deeply for the horse. My friend has rang around evey where and no can help this poor man and his horse, unless he signs it over to them, which i think is awfull. He's been totally up front about his situation and is willing to help out finantionally as much as he can, i feel really sorry for him, if i had my own place id have the horse for him tomorrow.
My friend has offered to take the horse to her place for a month but she lives in the Birmingham area and hasnt got any transport for him to be moved, she is travelling to Leeds every day to look after this boy, If anyone can offer any advise or help at all please let me know.
Another problem is that he is a stallion :-/

Sorry I can't help, but what a great job you are all doing and I hope something or someone is found to help this boy and his owner...

Yes he travels well , Amazona hasnt got internet access right now but im sure she will be on here in the morning to catch up on the thread and contact the people who are offering to help.
Thankyou to you all, hopefully we'l get this poor lad sorted.

The poor guy just needs a bit of help and support till hes back on his feet, thank god there are some people out there that care and are willing to help, would hate to ever be in such a situation myself.

Nice looking ned - so the owner can't afford to pay now something's gone wrong? - shame.

Thats rather unfair, he obviously cares about the horse, it is usually tethered and cannot be now due to injury. The owner is also in a poor way following the accident and probably has no way of earning any money.

Too far away to help but would have it if nearer no problem, hope you get something sorted soon.

I wouldn't be making such a judgemental comment seeing as we are of sure of his situation job wise. If he is self employed then he earns when he is working, if he isn't working then he has no money coming in.

By the sounds of it this has been an incredibly dangerous accident and a full recovery could be taking months and in which time he can't work OR be fit enough to look after his horse daily.

He obviously cares a lot for his horse otherwise he would have no issues with selling him on.

I've posted this story onto the local Leeds Facebook pages.

To be honest I am a bit ashamed, some of the posts dont show this forum in too good a light

Eh, so he can't pay for the horse until it's useful again? And once it's recovered it willo back on the end of a chain? How did he pay for its keep before? It sounds like the horse would be better off signed off to a charity. Putting the horses nees first-not his.

Susie please dont assume, you dont know whats fully going on here, we are doing all we can to make sure this dosnt happern. this guy does care, the horse is a working horse, he can no longer work, the guy is on critches he has no trailer and all the scrap meatal he collected has been taken away, that was his wages. I am positive this guy will do the right thing by the horse, please give him and us a chance, here, thankyou.

Have updated the situation with a new post, appriciate all the offers of help with vet bills ect, we are currantly trying to set up some kind of chip in system, if anyone knows how to do this, would love to know, thanks again guys.
and a special big humungus thankyou to the person who has offered this guy a stable and help in looking after him, you know who you are ;-) xx

If you read the whole thing, it sounds like the guy and his horse earned their living with the cart.

Now the guy is on crutches he cant earn a living or look after the horse. No I dont agree with the tether and perhaps he should have had plans in place for something like this. But then that could be said of a lot of "caring" owners on here.

Hope Pastures have given me the number for the horse transporter they use. Unfortunately they charge, am sending it to your friend now.

Wish I had not sold my Disco, I would be on my way now. Should have hurried up with buy my new one

yayyyyy the boy will be on his way in approximatly half an hour thanks to Carol Perkins who has very kindly offered to pick him up, she will how ever need paying but hopefully there are enough kind people willing to help out so that shouldnt be a problem.. :-)

ANOTHER UPDATE
Horse is loaded and on is on his way and........ wiat for it.......
HOPE PASTURES have very kindly offered to pay for his transport :-)

As the swellings going down there are certain signs that dont look very good so they will be getting the vet in again next week to give him a thorough checking over . fingers crossed for this boy.
By the way his name is John Boy ♥
