well i havent been up to much recently..been struggling a little with millie...hopefully it is partly down to her teeth which were checked the other day and when the dentist first looked at them said " how the hell do you ride this horse?" so not exactly promising.
basically her teeth were awful and especially so because of her missing a tooth (the worst one u cd take out apparently :| :? ) and this causing many problems such as :-
1) the tooth above it is too long as it doesnt grind against anything
2)the teeth either side of the gap as they are not held by anything are pushing towards each other which is painful
and she also has slightly gappy teeth at the front which mean food gets stuck a bit-so i have to just keep an eye on them..and give them a brush if they get a bit clogged up!
I had been riding her in a mexican grackle to avpoid the area but he said a drop would be much better so that there is not pressure on the jaw around where she is gappy....
so lots to think about there. :?
went to a flatwork lesson last night and took some pics...we worked very relaxed and loose just so she cd get used to her "new" teeth so to speak and she felt much better wasnt as strong or arguementative...so hopefully the same will be the case jumping wise where i have been havin problems.
shes lost a little fitness(stamina wise) as she hasnt been ridden to as much of an extent to a couple of mmonths ago..cos iv been busy with A levels, and been v depsondant about how she was goin...but anyway sorry that was so long..thought the teeth stuff may be of interest.
comments appreciated
i think i need to tilt my saddle flaps back as well as i seem to be sitting a bit with my leg too foward so i shall be trying that
pics will be in the gallery (once i get them to post
