Very very sad but my darling Cecil was PTS last night. I'm absolutely heartbroken as I loved him to death and bless him he loved me un-reservedly following me everywhere every minute he wasnt sleeping. I know it was the right decision for all concerned but that wont stop me feeling bad. He has taken the path over Rainbow Bridge to be with his dalmation pal Rocket who sadly left us in april at the age of 14. The pair of them spent almost 13 yrs together and only the past 2 months apart, at least they are together again now forever.

It is a difficult decision having a seemingly physically healthy dog PTS but like us humans, sometimes the mind goes and not the body.

My house was very quiet this morning as Cecil was quite vocal, I'm sure my 3 JR will be wondering whats going on.

Cecil had a fantastic last weekend living off chicken breast and having lots of walks.

I hope he is now in a happier place.

RIP my big dopey daft friend.

I'm sorry for you, we lost our black lab last Tuesday aged 14, it's hard but it will get better. It was the kindest last thing you did for him, think of it like that. x

As sad as it is I think you made the right choice given the circumstance - not that you will 100% feel you have at the moment!

But there is no more worrying on your part and no more pain and distress on his. He will be with his friend now and they can play forever with nobody in any pain.

RIP 'big dopey daft friend' xxx

As others have said, heart breaking as it was to make that decision you know you have done the kindest thing for your beloved Cecil.

I have two Dalmatians of my own so know how much these dogs steal your heart and just need to be with you constantly.

Run free from pain now Cecil with your best friend Rocket, both of you knowing how much you were loved.

Massive hugs for you.

Thankyou everyone for your kind words. They have helped me a great deal to cope with what is a very sad time for me.

Big hugs to you all XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Im so sorry for you (esp having to make a positive decision rather than with physical stuff vet telling you), but am glad that in your post it comes over that you know it was the right one to make for you, but especially for Cecil. RIP and run free boy.....and hugs for you.
