So, I put my toughnut hat on and have been working with Bryony since the growling/teeth incident. As soon as I decided that she wasn't actually going to bite me it's been a lot easier to deal with :o

I've been trying to teach her 'swap' by offering her something yummy in exchange for her ball, toy and now even bone! The bone I thought she was going to kill me over, she will know happily give to me providing I have something just as nice for her to have instead, she seemed to learn that pretty quickly too!
I'm happy with this, and I really didn't think it would be this easy! It's also really helping her re call, cos when I throw her ball as a well done for coming back treat, I can now do a swap with her to get it back, without having to fight with her for a while.
So yeah, a positive update from us.

Oh didnt know B was being a bit naughty pants!!! Glad you got it sorted...... Dex still has to swap things......

She scared me a bit :o I gave her a raw bone and when I went near her she started growling and behaving quite threateningly towards me. After the initial breakdown that I always seem to have, I put my sensible hat on and started working on it, and swap is bloomin' marvellous! I love it!

Ohhh bad pup! Dex did that to me once with his dinner (sardines)- not nice..... I would never get anything off Dex if it were not for Swapsies!

Thats good news and its restored your confidence, she sounds though she is coming on a treat.

My last Dobe was really possesive of his ball on a rope, would bring it back a few times then think naw its all mine and you will have to fight me for it, I just bought another ball and he was fine.

Yay. :) I am a proper convert to swapping stuff around, takes all the tension out of play and feeding times!

I'm not gonna lie, I nicked the idea from you :p

I went back at lunch today like normal, put Tys in his cage and gave Bryony her bone on her bed, and patted her whilst she was eating to say goodbye.
I cant believe how quickly she has learnt and how easy this was to teach. It has totally erradicated any agression that she seemed to be showing last week. Its like she now realises me coming near her isn't a threat to her bone at all.
Dogs are funny creatures :p
