Just had the vet up to Mysti as she was as bad as she was last night still. Vet has diagnosed acute laminitis in all 4 feet but shes particularly bad on one of her fronts :(
Im shocked but sort of had a gut feeling it was bad as shes really not herself, shes on box rest for a week to see if she improves and if not she needs xrays, can i have lots of get well soon vibes for Mys please :(

ETA - Vet said theres been loads of cases because of the weather, so i feel a little less bad!

Lots of get well wishes to your horse...take the recovery slowly and maximise the box rest and I am sure all will be well.

Aww, I'm so sorry Montyforever. I know how well you look after them, so must be devastating for you.

Hope she makes a good recovery.

oh no, sorry to hear of another case of lammy, you are right, there has been tons this year. Mine had a severe attack (his first) 11 weeks ago yesterday, he is now being turned out all day and only in at night, and sound in walk and trot on a surface.
Got everything crossed for you for a speedy recovery.

Oh dear, let that be a lesson to all of us who own good doers.

It's warm now and after all the rain we've recently had, the grass is growing fast and it's very green and sweet :(

aww sorry to hear this montyforever, fingers crossed you'll have her back in the mend in no time.

Mine is the only good doer in a field of 5, the others are all complaining that there isn't enough grass, but mine continues to sport a hippo like figure if given half the chance! I keep him in during the day with soaked hay. He is working a little less than normal (I can't ride, just had knee op) so I'm even more paranoid about the lami risk. I'm sure other liveries think I'm mad!!

Lots and lots of vibes. We are just coming to our 10 month anniversary, still on box rest, but have 30 mins a day hand grazing and 15-20 mins walking ridden work and we are sound and bute free, another 3 weeks and then we can start turning out for an hour a day gradually building it up. Please please take it slowly......
