It turns out, as I thought originally that the pony just has a slight sprain on her tendon from a kick (and possibly twisting to get out of the way - or knowing her kick back :o )

The bloods came back clear so no virus or infection, hurrah, I think she was a bit tender despite only being very very slightly lame in trot when flexed (1-2 tenths) - she is rather precious at times, and perhaps a bit fed up, she likes working.

She's now on bute for 10 days and box rest/hard standing, although this wasn't necessary according to the vet if she behaved herself in the field, but I told him knowing her she would go and pick a fight while she's feeling spritely from the bute, so we have decided to leave her in where she hopefully can't cause too much mischief. She is also back to get grumpy opinionated self :D :D

The vet is coming back out in a week and a half to check it over. However the swelling had already gone down massively on the day he came out (Monday).

On a side note I had some very odd looks from people in the village this evening when I took her for an in hand walk. They obviously think that I am mental, and bought a horse when I meant to get a dog :D

I nearly cried at that comment because I was laughing so much.

I had more than one double take and some confused looking drivers, I think one man crossed to road early to stay away from the crazy girl who is obviously doing horse ownership all wrong :D :D

Maybe he thought I was on hospital day release... Or worse I'd escaped.

Great news :)

I too had a giggle about the people wondering why you were walking her like a dog :) I often get funny looks when I long rein :)
