Some of you may remember I posted last week about my daughter's horse that was at selling Livery, well I have him here now. He is in a terrible state!! Very thin, no appetite and unsual smelling droppings, he also seems very depressed.
I have started feeding him small meals four times a day, he is eating all his haylage but plays around with food. I'm going to get his teeth checked but was wondering if the droppings smell was the norm for a malnourished horse?
Thanks

Glad you have him back home but like Mrs M said I would be inclined to contact the welfare people as they deal with this day in day out so can offer great advice, unfortunately I am unable to help with regards to smelly poo's...you taken any pics of him as you could try and claim against the livery that were supposed to be looking after him...thats just ignorance to me that they let him get like that, I would pursue them for the costs of getting himn back to health but main thing is that you have him back, also contact vet may require quick check over poor little man, hope he will be OK in your capable hands I'm sure!!!

Please let us know how you get on with him...

Hi Marinita,

I agree with comments from Kezz and Mrs M about contacing welfare groups, in the meantime perhaps something like pink powder or some other sort of pre and probiotic may help?

Good luck
