Alee went off the school on Thursday for some handling work, ground work and long lineing.
Jason, from australian stock horses, came to the yard on thursday and spent 20-30 mins with her in the school.
I was very nervous as I had never seen this guy working but he came highly recommended to me. Well as soon as he took her in the school true to form the napped and reared but within 5 mins he had her much more settled and really listening to him, I was amazed and knew instantly that this little trip would do her the world of good.
He then proceeded to load her. I have not loaded her since I got her which in itself was a hideous experience for her but that is another story. He took about 10 mins to get her in it was truly amazing to watch she was just so calm and trusting of him and there were no paddys napping or rearing which I had expected.
She travelled well took about an hour to get there and unloaded as if she had done it hundreds of times before.
He started work with her on Friday then spent sometime on sunday and yesterday loose schooling her in the round pen. He called me yesterday to say he had had the long lines on her and to see if I could go over today to watch.
It was great and she was happy with the long lines and was really working well and listening to him . He has got the just of her already 'not scared of anything just likes to answer back' typical mare really. I'm just so please with how its going. She is staying till next thurs / friday when I have a lesson and bring her home and hope to do justice with everything he has taught her. Hope to get some piccys next time I go over so I can show you all. She just looks so grown up now. Hopefully she will go back to him in the autumn to be started properly.
