spoke to the police yesterday and the guy has been interviewed by them and needless to say denying everthing. Apparently the weapeon was not a screw driver but a seed dipper (?) which i suppose he thinks makes it alright and the police have seized it anyway! He in fact was not a land owner and was just someome that 'one of the owners had told' to make sure no horses were on the track. Clearly this was why he was not interested in the fact we had permission (as far as we were aware) from the owner to be there. The police are talking to the landowners next week and IMO if they have sent this vigilante on his way they are as bad as the nutter. the officer said the guy will probably just get a caution but we are not leting this drop!

hope it all works out ok, I must have missed your original post but sounds scary!

lucretia, try not to take this incident to heart..as I said before it was always an evidentially thin case, he will only get a caution if he makes a full admission to a criminal offence, if he doesn't do so the only option left would be to charge him and put him before a court..that will not happen unless there is independent supporting evidence...it is out of the hands of the Police, they don't get to choose who to prosecute any more.
