Finally some good news.He hasnt done the suspensory ligament as the vet thought its appears to be a splint or small fracture causing all the problems.I had scans on ligaments and tendons all clear on both legs and xrays on knees and cannon bone.No arthritis in knees (just had hock spavin surgery)the splint might be from concussion he had to do a lot of walking out on hard surfaces to fuse the hock.
The plan is two weeks off then two weeks walking in the school then build up to trot and hopefully he will come sound.
Do insurance companies put exclusions on legs for splints like tendon injuries .

Glad you've had some good news. One question, is two weeks off long enough for even a small fracture? I'd just check that. Sorry, I don't know about the insurance exclusions. Hope your horse comes right for you soon.

kvs - Hes already had 2 weeks because I stopped riding and it looks like it happened earlier as the bone has already calcified ,x rays show a repair .Its the inflammation that is making him lame .Thanks I can see were you are coming from.I cant tell you how relieved I feel.
