Hi guys, I have an update, I went with my gut and brought the pony, haggled a "big" bit, and got the pony for alot less than the asking price. (Can't believe it, i normally clam up when it comes to haggling - thank god for text!!).

So let me introduce the newest member of our family, Joey!! Welcome to the family, Joey!!! We love you already!! :) :) :)

Aww congratulations! I think that your daughter has a new best friend, they look lovely together. I saw your previous threat about him - did you get any news on his age or is he the same age as advertised?

Hi guys, he is the quietest pony ever, without being dead. Unfortunately you have to carry a whip, not use it, but carry it. Still he is super!!!!!! I had the equine dentist and vet age him, he is most definitely 17, no matter what he's back says. Shauna is only jumping about 40/50 cms but pony can jump 1mtr 05.. I think she will be teaching him to walk the stairs, so she can keep him in her bedroom!! And Patrick even loves him!!! We are so delighted to have him, please god, we'll get to have him for a long time. Now it's saddle and rug hunting for him, happy days!!! :)

My friend bought a 16 year old against the advice of a lot of people, not mine I hasten to add, and he is still going strong, happy and healthy, 5 years later! Wish you lots of fun and happiness with him.

Lovely. My daughters little 19 yo pony blasted past my flat racing TB today on a gallop across large field. Age is just a number with some of these little pones!

Guys, ye are going to think i'm so sad, but since i posted, i keep checking back for updates, as i'm soooo friggin excited over the pony. I absoutely love him so much, although i had to hide it over the last week until he was ours. I am that sad that I am thinking of having a bbq in his honour next weekend, get all mine and shaunas horsey friends together, and previous owners are coming up to give passport etc.... so how sad am i?? but whoop whoo, we love Joey...
Super little pony, we love him so much and are so lucky to have found him!!!!

Hi,

I followed your last thread with interest - I soo pleased for you - he's looks such a lovely chap.

My pony is about 16 but no-one would know it. There's loads of late teen ponies at our yard and they're all full of vitality and give the younger horses a run for their money.

I'll raise a toast from over here to Joey and loads of pony adventures :D:D:D:D

Well, he will be really well fed, looked after etc... he wasnt fed hard feed previously, but to be honest, i think he needs it, not saying oats, but some form of horse feed. can't wait to look sfter this pony, we love you Joey!!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

He looks and sounds lovely.
I hope your daughter has many years of happiness with him.
At 17 he's in his prime, loads of miles left on the clock to go and will give your daughter the benefit of his life experience.
Good luck :D

Older ponies like him are worth their weight in Jelly Babies!

My first pony was 22!! He was a sod lol but I loved him to bits. When I grew out of him we were offered stupid money for him-stupid as in excessive!
He passed away at 34 after going through another 3 Pony Clubbers after me.
He was a legend in his own brushing boots!

A good pony makes a lifetime of memories.

Aw he reminds me of my pony. We got him when he was 16, did pony club, local shows, cross country etc for 10 years until I got a bit heavy for him. He's now 30 and would still be happily ridden if I had a smaller rider. Some of these ponies just go on and on.

Love that last picture. Kiddies face just about says it all!
Congratulations Popeyesno1fan, here's to many happy years together for you all!
