I posted a few weeks ago about a foal that had been dumped on the mountain near where I live. I took the little fella in, although I didn't have the space to take him. After a week or spo of phonecalls to numerous welfare centres, we were informed every time aboput how full they all are and that some have started shooting anything that comes in. By this time we fell completely in love with Bob, (his new name). My daughter has formed a real bond with him. So, we have decided to keep him. Thanks to a good friend who has said we can share her new grazing, we have the space we needed to take him on. All's well, that ends well... for this little fella at least, it's just a shame that things have become so dire that people feel the need to dump foals on mountains!
Thanks to all who gave offer of help! Here is a picture of Bob a day after we took him off the mountain. He now has filled out, lost some of the worms and today, trotted out of the barn for the first time!

The vet said that he was born with the disabled eye and will always be blind in it, this is his good side!

Well done for taking him on and giving him a chance in life.
Why the hell do people breed horses if they aren't prepared to look after them? I will start to rant if i dont shut up now. Grrrrrr....!
So pleased there are people like you in this world.

How do I see the pic? By the way, well done you for taking him off the mountain and now giving him a home. I hope all goes well for you all.

What a lucky horse he is to have found you - and what a lovely person you are to have given him a home!! Really wish there were more people in the world like you

Will try and get some updated pictures soon, he developed a hugely snotty nose the day after this, which is just clearing up, so he didn't look pretty for a while bless him! It's hard to see just how skinny he was under that coat (about two inches of it!) aswell.

Aw yey everyone's happy then! He looks so cute, bet he will be absolutely gorgeous when he's had some spring grass and lost his fluff too i can see a really nice pony under all that hair.

Such a shame the rescue centres have had to take such drastic resorts! Never heard of horsey rescues having to do that before.

Nice to have a happy update - sweet little chap.

My friend's pony was blind in one eye, and he much preferred you to lead him from his blind side, so you didn't block out the vision from his good eye. Just a tip that might come in handy one day!

You are so kind to take on an unwanted foal, good on you, it sounds like the baby boy found his angel.
Good luck with him and keep us posted on how he is doin.

Aww thants good, nice to see he has landed on his feet -one concern though -whats causing his drippy nose? Whats the fluid like?

Such a shame things have are getting that bad at the rescue centres they are needing to shoot new arrivals

Well done you, he looks as though with some TLC he will turn out fine as he does not badly put together.

I personally would not worry about the eye. Cairo has his eye removed at 9 and it never stopped him doing anything and he was the most unspookiest horse you could have want.

Thank you again for being such a wonderful person and taking the little scrap in.
