After a few false hopes, Ellie is still looking for her forever home.
Please PM me those who are generally interested and I can put you in touch with her owner.
She is a lovely mare, who ideally needs to stay SW area, although further afield from us here now could be possible.

hey is it an x polo pony whats the story? does it need happy hacker home or can it do abit more? why doesn't it play anymore? sorry lots of questions !

She needs a fun hacking home, but could also do veteran showing, nannying, ride and lead or just be a lovely companion. She is 23 ish, ex polo pony, who can't play polo any more as its a bit fast for her now!
She is sound, fit and healthy.
Owner needs her to go, as limited grazing for the stud stock.

oh whats a shame they cant keep her on as a retired one! X polo ponies make fab rides, i have a number of them! ok if i hear of anyoen looking i will pm you, im surprised no one has taken her yet! she is in south uk no?

We are surprised too! Owner can't keep her, she has to many! Yep, North Dorset located. And thanks, keep your eyes and ears open!!

To anyone who's wondering what the catch is, I can vouch for her being a lovely mare, and a lovely responsive, forward going ride. Nothing at all amiss with her. She gave me a nice ride when I came up to see her. A genuine gem for anyone looking for a good, fun hack.

I'd have snapped her up in a heartbeat if I weren't looking for something a little smaller and more suitable for my rather nervous 12 year old to ride.

I really hope someone can give her a lovely home. Don't be put off by her age; she looks and rides like a much younger horse :)

Good luck finding somewhere for her Ruth.

X

Shame on owner for getting rid of the golden oldie rather than (presumably?) easier to sell stock.

In fairness, they aren't looking to sell her. Just find her a home where she can continue to be used and enjoyed. Ellie isn't ready to be retired yet by any means and I think the people who have her now would simply like to see her go to someone who would enjoy her for a few more years. She mightn't be up to fast paced polo but she'll be a lot of fun for a long while yet before wanting to be left pottering in a field somewhere. :)

Thanks Spyder!!

The owner (my boss) has a small TB stud, and her priorities are the TB's. Hence the 'lack' of grazing for Ellie. Her children play PC level polo, and as Ellie isn't quite up to that anymore, owner has quite rightly decided that Ellie needs to go to a loving yet active home.
I am trying to step in and help out on the search for said wonderful people!! HHO is as good as start as any!?!
