I hope her knee is ok tomorrow!

Though, how does one knock oneself on the nose with one's hoof?? What happened?

Though the other day, I did see my pony scratching the top of his head with a hind hoof, so I guess it would be possible...

She jumped up, went down on one knee, then sort of jumped up and her leg went above her head then came down whacking her nose on the way down .. hard to explain

i knew a horse who was frightened of fireworks & the local shoot.

I think its far kinder to give them some sort of sedative for their own good, so that they don't injure themselves or trash the stable. This horse would also end up upsetting the others with his behaviour.

Last year he had Sedalin, but it didn't make a huge difference.

I hate the fact that people can let the bloody things off anyday of the year, why not limit it to a few days each side of bonfire night and new year , people round here are so selfish although its not as bad a a few years ago!! good old credit crunch perhaps

I just have my fingers crossed that the weather around Bonfire Night it going to be horrible - gales would be just perfect. Its those still clear nights that are the scary ones when the noise carries for miles!

Sorry to hear that your pony wacked herself. I'm getting calmers for both my horses, dogs and me come Nov. But anyone want to join me in a rain dance for around that time.

Have a look at this link, I know people vote and campaign against them all the time and it falls on deaf ears but we can but try. Having 2 out of my 3 dogs terrified by fireworks I dread Sept to the New Year, they even let them off in the day time so taking the dogs out during the day to escape the noise is not even working.

It's like the blitz round here for 2 weeks in November. We have them all year, mainly at weekends in the summer (very late upto 3 am) but start of Sept they start gearing up and we are having them everynight and during the day on and off now. By the time we get to Nov 5th I am having to sedate my dogs.
