He's still pretty grumpy but seems to be fine as long as no one is near him. If you walk up to him and try and touch him that's when he gets aggressive.
If you lightly touch him anywhere on his tummy he kicks out and is very very tucked up.
I got my Coligone today so I'm looking forward to giving him some later

I rode him in the school on sunday and he was awful, in the end I got off as I wasn't going to achieve anything. He was so tucked up and tight over his back he was tipping me forwards, he wouldn't take a contact and just hollowed in front. He felt like he would explode any minute. He clearly wasn't right so I got off him and let him run round on his own.

I had a lesson this morning and he was pretty much the same but we managed to work through it and got some nice stretching and looseness over the back but he still wasn't right.
My instructor saw straight away that he has lost loads of muscle over his quarters and they don't match the rest of him at all. She hasn't seen him for a month.

She gave me the number of her back lady as she thinks he has hurt his back. I have hacked him once during the week and he was really tense and was jogging everywhere and going sideways.

Thanks for reading

Also have arranged to move him to a different stable in a quieter part of the yard.

Hello! Pleased you are on here, thanks for my Coligone,
what would you suggest, do I use the syringe first and then use the empty syringe for the liquid?
How much of the syringe should I give him? the whole lot?

Being a bit stupid, but it contains 50 grams, is that the same as 50 ml?

Yes 50gm/50ml

Because it's a paste we've legally got to weigh it rather than use the liquid measure - all bonkers eh! LOL!
Give him 50ml of liquid twice a day which can be syringed or added to his feed - it's up to you whether you use the syringe first and refill it - or save it for emergencies

Worried's horse (see comp riders) is the same too. My chiro says it is a virus going around...hope she is right!

Must order some Coligone too!

how did the coligone go? i'm very interested to know....

it does sound like a stomach or back problem to me (more likely the latter tbh) but if his back is sore it could make him feel grumpy (think period pain!

) and would explain him being a bit wierd round people.

How strange, and it's not as if we live anywhere near each other either.

Phoned the chiropractor and explained what he has been doing and she recommended I speak to my vet.
So he's coming out on thursday.

Really quite worried about Axey now, he's even more agressive and is still tucked up with a tight back.
I only have to stand next to him and he pulls really evil faces and kicks out. He went for a girl at the yard this morning and bit her hard on the arm while she was filling her water buckets up.
He was supposed to be shod today but my farrier and I decided to wait until next week and see what the vet says.
I lunged him just off a headcollar this morning as we are still on alternate day turnout, and he was very odd, not his usual self at all. He was especially bad on the left and was dragging his hind toes. He also kept spinning round and going the other way (right rein) although he doesn't look lame at all.

Just have to wait and see, hope it's nothing too serious
