Hi folks - just thought I'd let you all know how Honey's doing. Vet came back out last week and is very impressed.

Her knee has almost sealed itself now, we only have about a 1cm gap now. Her cannon bone is almost there as well now just a little bit left for the skin to fuse together.

Her back leg which as far as I'm concerned was enormous is now shrinking by the day and is coming along in leaps and bounds. It still shocks people when they see it as they still think it's huge, but I think it's about half the size it used to be - I mean the skin has now fused together about an inch above the hock and the rest of the edges are growing beautifully.

Her front fetlock - they have decided that she's going to have skin grafts which are scheduled for the beginning of December; if she has produced enough proud flesh for them to bed them into. She'll then go on box rest for week bandaged to try to stabalise them and get them to take. That's been quite hard for me to do, because we've spent the last month trying to control the amount of proud flesh and now I've had to stand back on that and watch it get worse again, (all my hard work going to waste - well not all of it), but I suppose there is method in their madness!!

Anyway, I thought I'd wait until after that to post some more pictures.

But all in all she's doing incredibly well and being very good. Because of the weather (mud) she hasn't been able to go out this week and only mooch around the yard so she's a bit bored, but hopefully it will dry up a bit and she can go back out.

FAntastic news Debs!! Really pleased for you. I'll be doing a photo update of my little guy on Sunday as it will be a month since he injured himself - you won't believe the difference. It's amazing just how quickly they heal up isn't it.
