Bit the bullet tonight and against OH telling me none of my business(and tbh did feel a bit of an interfereing old bag!) spoke straight to owner.Owner apparently doesn't believe laminitis as one vet said it was an another said its not(with x rays) so is confused.Tho did say tbh its totally irrelevant if laminitis or not as pony obviously sore so needs vet whatever cause.Horse doesn't have classic lamanitic stance but is sore, heat in hoof slight pulse but not throbbing and those ridges on new growth of hoof at coronet band. Has said will get vet tho doesn't trust them thru past experiences but they are the only option to find out why horse sore and treat. As said they do love horse and felt quite soryy for them as genuinely looked confused as to what to do

ahh thanks for the update, thats great that you spoke to owners so they are obvisously having bad experience with a certain vet or practice? can they not get another vet out to investigate? so there is heat, slight pulse and slight ridges on hoof at coronet band? the pony doesn't necciserialy (sp) have to be in a stance for it to be diagonosed with lami, how is the pony to walk around? I would have thought though that the pony would be on some painkillers and anti inflam's there is underlying cause to the pain.

Hope they manage to sort the pony out though.

Thanks and here have a nice choc trifle....

johnrobert owner doesn't know whats causing pain just seems to totally disagree with Laminitis diagnosis.Which is another reason why I can't understand why they wouldn't get vet.Ignoring it doesn't make it go away so do ALL you can do to alliveate the pain and find out cause or am I being silly here!
As said in previous post vets and farrier are both very good and experienced at their job.If honest wouldn't use the practice that they used for vet that said not laminitis but thats personal choice.

Kezz did explain that to her re stance etc and that end of day horse needs vet and technically that if back man looks at horse really should be informing vets of this.Horse is sore to walk around.Did say that 3 months was too long for it to be like this
There really are only 2 equine practices in this area so tbh has to pick one or the other even if has trust issues with them.Don't know if they expect too much from vet as think with horses its sometimes a process of elimination and educated guessework but if not going to believe diagnosis what the hell do they want!
Its like its so bloody obvious WHAT to do regardless of what you think cause is .Needs vet and pain relief end of!And if 2 out 3 proffessionals said laminitis would go with that tbh.
Will wait and see if vet comes out.
