For those who read my post yesterday and for those who replied, thanks alot for your help but unfortunatley we had to put him to sleep this morning. He had a steoid injection yesterday and was much better last night but by this morning had gone downhill very quickly. He had fluid in his lungs that was stopping him breathing and so was slowly suffocating. He was put out of his misery quickly and quietly.

Thanks

I am so sorry to here this, I've only just read your post from yesterday.
We lost our mare to kydney failure last year. From the onset to her eventual death took less than 12 hours, we had no idea that she had a problem prior to that. I don't know what else to say but I know how you feel.

Many condolences

I havnt read previous post but Im so sorry for you and your boy. I have lost a number over the years and it never gets any easier to lose a loved horse.

Sending healing prayers and vibes for you both xx

Sorry to hear this, many condolences

I have a question? Did her kidney area swell up? A good friend has an elderly mare who has a huge swelling in the kidney area that came up today. Her back leg on the same side was filled yesterday. Would that mean her kidneys have packed up?
