yes there was a post a couple of days ago about the chestnut... http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1727437/an/0/page/4#1727437
he cut his leg rolling in the school too close to the fence, just took the skin off poor guy
he is 5, backed at 2 and trainer decided he hadnt grown enough to race as a 2yr old so was turned away till 2 weeks ago, just started lunging and walk trot work, my only worry with him is the flat feet and front pasterns (although my vet doesnt think these are a problem)
grey is 7 not done much but not as green, loose jumped and started gridwork
im looking for something to bring on and event
will definatly keep you posted on what happens tomorrow
The grey is a much better stamp of horse. The chestnut looks 'wrong'. Something about it I just don't like. It could be the photo, but he looks back at the knee and has pretty straight hocks, and weak back end generally.
I do like the grey, looks quite ponyish which is a good thing imo - especially to go eventing on.
I think the chestnut has seriously weak hocks, wouldn't touch it even if it were given to me.
Personally don't like the chestnut - I think he'll look better with weight and conditioning but he's never going to be a 'stunning' horse (only my opinion though)!
