Posted thread a couple of weeks ago about our cob mare who's been itchy ever since we got her just over a year ago. Well, had the vet out - he said it's highly unlikely to be food related as food allergies are extremely rare. He tested for pinworms (which we didn't think she had) and she's clear so he's given her the cattle wormer and on his instructions, we've used Coopers Fly Repellant on her to kill any midges. So now we just wait another week or so to see if it's had the desired effect. If not then he'll do a blood test. She certainly doesn't seem to be as itchy although had a good chew today after exercise but we think that's because she's moulting.
