Ok so after ligament in stifle had healed, vets thought he had sore muscles from compansating, work through it and should see him improve!
After 5 weeks riding on soft ground and taking it easy, there was no improvement at all and he started to get naughty to ride and not go forward. I stopped everything and left him to just going in the field during the day and in of a night and booked the vets.
Vet came out 2 weeks after (on holiday) and we lunged him to find he was lame on the front too
I had no idea he was lame as he was just walking in and out of the stable, he isnt lame at a walk and there wasnt any cuts, swelling, heat etc. He ould have just done it or he could have been like it for 2 weeks!
More lunging, trotting up and down, turns, flextion tests and all the rest of it, luckily he had a scan machine in his car so we decided to scan him. Turns out he had sprained hes tendon
it was very slightly bigger on that side. Soooo guess what? More bloody box rest, i could have cryed. Poor jack had already done 3 months box rest previously, its safe to say he isnt a happy bunny!!
So after 4 weeks in the vet is hoping the tendon will be ok to box him to the vets for xrays on his back end, he thinks its possibly a bone spavin... anything else??? Sunday will be a year since i bought him, we have had 4 months of riding in that time lol, we had enlarged ligament in his stifle, possible bone spavin in hock and a strained tendon, we have only one good leg left
i have to laugh or i will cry!!
Now im going to do a new thread asking about bone spavins as ive never dealt with that before, ive had navicular, splints, ring bone, shot tendons, kissing spine, and arthritis before in previous horses, i bet your all wishing you had my luck arent you
For those interested, il probably doing another post in 4 weeks time after xrays :/ x
