For those of you who had a similar problem, re my post last week... the big ginger boy has been lame (right fore) for about 3 weeks so on Friday we headed off to the vets for x-rays. Thank God no fractures etc. Vet thinks bruising/pain due to the flatness of his humungous TB feet. So the farrier came out to put some Equipak on both front feet - re-shaped his feet, shod him and then injected a black rubber material onto both soles. Now the lad has flat rubber undersides to his feet. Voila - instantly sound !! Can't quite believe it. We'll see how he goes over the next few days but the improvement has been amazing. He's now turned out in a v small paddock with overreaches on. He was so excited to be off box rest he just bucked on the spot. Very impressed by my new farrier.
