had vet out again last night as horsey could not walk. He has multiple issues,

right foot full of pus, plus fracture in wing of pedal bone, plus lateral rotation of pedal bone, plus early seedy toe, plus crap walls

left, lateral rotation of pedal bone, early seedy toe, crap walls, crap angle and strain on deep digital tendon?

what a bloody mess, BUT my vet says all fixable. Poulticing right foot, padding left heel, then when all pus gone....remedial farrier to put glue on plastic shoes until wall grows sufficiently to support nail on remedial shoes and possibly pads. So on box rest until I don't know when and a second mortgage required, but I am relieved that I now know whats going on and what can be done to rectify it and that he will come good at some point.

I am so proud of my boy he's such a sweetheart, even through all this pain he shows his true friendly gentle character and I will do anything to get him right

phew, sorry thats long, it must be the bacardi

Would your vet refer for hydrotherapy?

The spa is great at drawing out pus. IF you already have poor feet long term poulticing is not ideal. A side effect of the pus in increased hoof growth - therefore speeding up the growth and strengthening poor walls. The spa would treat all 4 legs at once helping to prevent any compensation problems. It would also help the DDFT strain. The spa is also a drug free pain relief and will stimulate blood flow to the limb.

I am insured but I don't think they'll cover the pus issue cos it would be deemed to be abscess related :-(

I've already had the vet 3 times this week!!!

Oh, slam the lot in. You must be up to around £800 already. And it's only going to go up.

Good luck and healing vibes +++++++++
