Knowing how much you all appreciate seeing progress photos I thought I'd share these with you.
As you can see, the lovely Lari has 'grown' into a totally different horse. He is so much stronger and I am so grateful to all the people who have put so much work into him.
It saddened me greatly when I discovered that someone on the forum forwarded a comment I had made in reply to a poster who was having issues with her new horse and miscommunicated what I had said to the lovely pro rider who rides my horse for me. Whether it was malicious or not I will never know, I certainly hope not but it could have caused so much trouble, luckily she saw it for what it was.
Anyway I am so grateful to her, I am sure she would wish to remain anonymous! I can only thank her for her help getting Lari to the stage he is at, she's a fab rider as I've mentioned many times before on the forum and she rides him to engage his core and make him stronger. I plan to keep her riding him at least once a week to keep him ticking over and I would also have a regular lesson off her too.
Its been a long hard road at times and we are no where near sorting his many issues out but with vet involvement, my lovely physio friend, the great farrier I use, the saddle fitter who has fitted him the most wonderful saddle and the wonderful staff and owner at the livery yard where I keep him and of course all the support from my friends and that of my lovely OH (I feel like I am wording something for the Oscars!) I am so, so grateful. Thank you to all of you too for keeping me sane and for all your helpful advice over the time I've had him, you were able to mitigate the fears and tears and I am grateful.
The last lot of vet bills was over £1200 - thank goodness I am insured! I am hoping it was worth it, I'm sure he will be a better horse for it. He can start trot work today so I'm hoping there is some improvement felt.
I have the saddle fitter coming out next week and I'm going to get on, first time in 6 months - I've not even sat on my new saddle yet!
I'm hoping I can update you next week about how good he was to ride, I am so excited!! I do love my Lari/Boo.
