Just thought I’d update you all on the outcome of my original post, which got quite a lot of responses which I was very grateful for, and many people commented on how brilliant it is that we can all discuss these things these days.
Anyway, I went for Giggle Knickers, bought all three colours, really nice quality and feel, very comfy. Have tested them out both competing and in training, and I’m really happy. Feel like a different person, much more confident.
In xc training the other day, horse went to shoot off, I had to do a big check, felt that horrible gush (sorry tmi) but then the pants seemed to wick it away in a flash, and I felt dry again immediately. Nothing came through into breeches. Carried on lesson without giving it a second thought, whereas normally I’d be crippled with shame, thinking my (youn, male) instructor would be able to see a wet patch.
So I just want to thank you all for your advice, and being so open with me, and kind of changing my life. These are the kind of things that I’m sure cause us older ladies to give up too soon. Not many things can be more shaming.
Still waiting for my Wuka period pants to arrive, so can’t give you a review on those. But thumbs up for Giggle Knickers for minor incontinence issues.

So pleased your generation has an answer to these problems. I can well remember being too nervous to take on a full time job I was offered because of dreadful flooding. Hysterectomy did change the game but not every one wants to go down that route.

Excellent news. I also bought some pants since reading your thread, so I could stop having the wrinkling /rubbing pad issue. I've tested them to ride in, not yet tested their leak proof qualities.

Thanks for having the courage to start the thread.

Oh that's brilliant, how great that a) we can discuss this and help each other and b) you've found something that works. I'll remember the name, I've not had kids but I'm of 'that age' and to be honest they sound like they could be useful!
