Well I have just arrived home from seeing him. He was very pale and yellow but that is due to the lack of bllood. He lost a lot in a 5 hour op last night in which he had pins. He has 6 breaks - 2 in the right of his pelvis, 3 on left and one in his femur. He has bruises all over his hands due to the rough nurses attempting to find a vain (and failing). We were there when they came to try again and he was in excrutiating pain, to the point where he was nearly in tears

It hurt me so much to see him like this. I bought him a pink horsey toy and a funky card which cheered him up

He thanks you all for your vibes and feels considerably better than yesterday and hopes to be out of hospital by monday

He particularly wanted to watch the brit awards but has no TV in the ward

HUGS to him and wishing him a speedy recovery.

That ounds so excruciatingly painfull, I cannot bear it! Poor Tom, he is being really brave. I hope that he gets better really quickly. Do they have any more ideas on when he will be able to ride again?

GREAT tell him that we are all expecting him to be out eventing at the end of May ! Fab news at least he will not miss too much of the event season...

You will shoot me down for saying this but I'm sure that he can do it...thing is with these kind of injuries your often perfectly OK to ride/walk/run a good few weeks BEFORE the doctors say that you can go and ride/run, if you know what I mean...these doctors always add on a extra few weeks just to be on the safe side...

All the best for a speedy recovery! He is young and fit so should make good progress! Just dont rush it as I did when i broke my ankle along with other injuries as I have to live with a "bad" ankle for all my life after I rushed my recovery to ride!

blimely what a horrible, horrible injury......

but us horsey folk are made of strong stuff......

all the best for a speedy recovery with lots of drugs.......

I'm sitting here wincing havig read about the op.

Hope you make a speedy recovery Tom. The fact that you are young fit and healthy will relly help.

Get a good physio and do what they say. Don't rush it as you will pay for it long term.

Oh My God... i've only just found this post, and have obviously missed the origional saying what happened!!!

Get Well soon!! tho sounds like it'll take a while!!!! dread to think of the pain, but hope it goes ASAP!!!!
