Hello Everyone
I thought as you were all so helpful with advice about what to do about Lita - our stressy, bossy young mare - that I would give you an update as to where we are.
After listening to all your advice we realised that even if we are to give Lita up we have to deal with some of her bad manners. So we have been working hard with her on discipline and manners and have seen real turn around in her behaviour. She still has her moments but her behaviour is much better.
We are a long way off dealing with her and I am not sure that we will keep her - as Abby has to really be willing to work with her and there is no point if she doesn't enjoy it.
However, the big news - that I couldn't say before - is that we have given notice on our yard as we have found a private yard to rent.
Part of our problems have definitely been caused by the lack of grass in our field. Both our horses have lost weight and condition over the past six months due to lack of grass and the also have to stay in the stables two days a week!
We are moving to a yard with four stables and five acres of land. We will have three horses and a pony. The field has not been grazed on for years and the grass is luscious. The owner has just put a flock of sheep on it to graze it down before we move.
So here are some pictures of the field and the stables.
