Sooo it seemed the yard got the message. I've had two messages from them telling me Maggie is in with her rug off and is fine

Asking Do I want them to turn out etc...

I never actually managed to speak to the yard manager as the phone was engaged constantly in the morning. I'm happy now though that it is sorted and apparently they are all aware of the situation.

Maggie's owner is back on Fri, she is happy with how i have handled it and we will talk to the yard manager together when she gets back.

I don't like getting involved in the politics of yards and am just happy that Maggie is being looked after properley. I don't care if they think i'm fussing or that the yard manager hasen't bothered to ring me.

I think leaving an open message (and pretty rude and blunt) in the livery book for all staff and liverys to see brought the message home. They can't have the other client's see that they have neglected a horse.

Thanks for all the comments yesterday

Lol something along the lines of...

I came upto find Maggie still in the field today, i did ask for her to be brought in (big arrow pointing to the "please bring in, Nicola will turn out on the previous page) She had managed to get stuck between the fence and ditch and had been there for a fair few hours. I managed to get her out and brought her down to the stables, took her rug off and found her soaked in dried sticky sweat. She was disgusting. She clearly had been left in the field all day with her rug on when it was 27degrees. I haven't ridden her as she drunk half a big bucket of water when i brought her down.

I know you have a big show on but its not fair to a)let Maggie get in this state and b)abuse paying clients trust like this.

Please make sure she is brought in and turned out with the appropriate rugs, as stated in the diary.

Bearing in mind people normally just leave little comments about what they want to do with their horses....
