Well it seemed we were winning and she was breaking the pacing and weaving and grazing and seeming more calm, she was on acp and brumide also. This morning she was stuck to the spot weaving. Completely unresponsive, the vet came out at 2pm and clinicly they could not find a thing wrong with her. The vet explained you can spend thousands trying to find out what was wrong and still be no further ahead. He believed it was neurological due to the pattern of behaviour. The decision was made to have her PTS to end the suffering. At 8 years old its no life for a horse. she was laid to rest in a field full of grass and the sun shining. Rest in peace beautifal mare. xx

Thank you for the support and advice at the time. it was much appreciated. x

thankyou every one. Her owner is ovbiously in pieces. It was such a quick deteriation, no one expected anything like this to happen. Shes at rest now though.

Poor mare. But brave owner doing what was right for her.
Are they going to do a PM and see whether there was an underlying cause?

i dont think so no. She had a poll injurie and a fair few head injurys in her time. Smacking her head on the stable door frame for one! it was prety safe to say it was nuerological of some kind.

I'm so sorry for her and her owner and those like you who knew her, what a sad outcome at that age but best and kindest thing for her. RIP.

When I saw that there was an update was really hoping that it was good news. So sorry to hear this. RIP.
