We have been and done a few jump clinics and been working very hard on our flatwork to get him softer in contact in front of my leg and also more reactive over the last few months, but not really been out competing, so this weekend has been a bumper one, out both days !
Saturday we pootled off to do Dressage to Music at a lovely local venue with fabulous facilities. only our second attempt at DTM and have been practicing on rather slippery grass so not ideal. he was such a good boy, warmed up well and I really tried to get him forward straight away. test went well, I think( still waiting for scores and they are sending our sheet on as left before class ended) everything happened in the right place at the right time, trot work was mostly good and we got the correct strike offs in canter which has been a work in progress, I am still "tense and holding too much in canter" but we are working on it. walk work we still struggle with relaxation and softness..again lots to still work on but I was pleased with his overall attitude and he was very steerable ;-)
link to the test if anyone wants to watch and cc us...

Sunday, we were invited to a fun One Day Event run by a lovely local livery yard, very low key no dress code with about 15 of us competing.
Well he was a superstar all day, nice tidy dressage test ( even though i forgot my studs!) for a 66.87%- converted that is about 33% ?
Clear in both SJ and XC at 85ish CM he was very calm, rideable and gave all the jumps plenty of air.
we came 2nd overall and got a lovely rosette and fab specially printed Tshirt as a prize.
great fun weekend all round!
