Took baby pony (Genie) cross country this evening, her second time ever! She was stubborn as hell going into the lorry - stood at the bottom of the ramp and refused to move until somebody stuck a broom up her bum! Travelled absolutely fine with two horses she doesn't know overly well, and was well behaved when we got there.
We did all the baby jumps cos she's new to this and not great at picking her feet up (first time we went cross country she went through the first jump) and she jumped ALL of them, only stopping at one which was my fault because I was didn't use enough leg but had too much rein contact. We've taken the plunge and entered the Total Novice class at the Hunter Trial next week!
Am so proud of my little baby pony. I'm not the most confident of jumpers, and so the fact she didn't pick up on my nerves too much was fantastic. Will let you all know how we do next week!!!
