I took my lad to a free gastroscopy day organised by my vets, and sponsored by Merial who make Gastroguard, on Tuesday.
The whole day was fascinating, we got to watch all the horses being scoped, had a very informative lecture on gastric ulcers, and a free lunch too!
Several of the horses scoped had severe ulcers - grade 4, and looked so painful. Two horses were clear, with my lad having low grade ulcers that were not too severe. He will be on a low dose of gastro guard for a week just to clear these up, then kept on Coligone permanently.
If you get a chance to go to one of these days, even if not to get your own horse scoped, I would definitely recommend it.
