update on missy (tendon) .....

Well cold hosed her tonight again for 20 mins , she stood like a lamb ( used quite a high pressurised hose) and bandaged her up again, I used a pair of tendon boots and put them over the top of the bandage, this seems to have stopped her from pulling the bandage off , however she has managed to take a few mouthfuls of the gamgee

Shes still very lame , so think I might give vet a ring tomorrow, I know its early days as it only happened on monday afternoon but she wasnt as bad as this .

Is she on bute? And she is still lame? Which tendon is it that she has injured?

yip shes on bute ... one of the good days that we had I sponge bathed her ( she really enjoyed it) ... took her a walk down the lane and she pulled to eat grass, turned her and "bang" ... she sprained her tendon , vet came out within half an hr as I thought it was much worse as she wasnt standing on it at all ( thought it was her knee ) .

But yeah shes on bute , shes still very lame and its her front near side .
 
where is it swollen?
sorry to hear she hasnt got any better yet.
if its swollen near the tendon and it wasnt before it sounds like its getting worse.i would be more worried as its gone worse and shes on bute.sounds like she could do with having a scan done to see exactly what shes done to it.tendons are a pain i hope it hasnt torn.
 
There is just a little pocket of spongyness ( sp ? if even a word) ... just around the bottom of the tendon ( above fetlock joint ) ... Il try and get a pic .


Gona head out now and see her ... Going to get vet out .

she could have damaged the deep flexor.
i would definatly get the vet out to do a scan preferably so you can see eactly whats going on.good job shes been on box rest or she could have done even more damage to it!
hope it turns out to be something else unrelated like an abcess
