Firstly sorry for not posting this in vets but I seem to get more of a response here.

Ok so its been 2 weeks now since we took murphy to the vets for what we thought was a front limb lameness.

He came back with a diagnosed hind limb lameness caused by problems with his sacro illiac joint. This is a problem he has had for about three years that is managed with supplements and physio. This is the worst it has ever been and we have decided to finish his jumping career and just use him for hacking if he comes sound.
He has been on bute for the last 2 weeks and is now to have 2 weeks off it before contacting the vet with an update.
The Farrier came today and fitted shoe wedges to help with his rotated pedal bones (flat feet). We trotted him up again after he had been shod and looked lame in front and behind again. I understand that these wedges will take some getting used to and I wasn't expecting a miracle but I certainly wasn't expecting him to be worse!!!

He seems to have gone back to how he was when he was originaly lame. When he went to the vets there was no front end lameness at all. Could it be that the adrenaline from travelling etc to the vets would make him look sound in front? He did look lame in front before we left for the vets!!
Has anyone got any info on wedge shoes and sacro illiac problems and has it helped, Murphy has been lame on and off now for 6 weeks and didn't come sound on the bute he was on 2 sachets per day for a week and then down to one a day for a week.
Should I ring vet earlier as there seems to be no improvment.

Oh dear that doesn't sound very good

What are you going to do? I would ring the vet and see what he says. Even if you have to take him up there again, at least you get to see nice Ben and his nice a** !!

When is Julie coming? She might be able to do something to him to make him a bit more comfortable.
