Thanks again to everyone who's given me advice about my stroppy madam. The good news is that I think I have found an instructor/trainer who I clicked with & who understands my mare a bit.
It was slightly embarrassing though as I had explained the problems I'd been having over the phone & when she came to see me V was an absolute angel and actually went very sweetly
Anyway, we had a play around and she even popped on her
at which point V did throw her toys out of the pram a bit. (and I was very glad I made her wear my hat) So at least she knows what we are dealing with now!
Anyway, the general feeling is that she is a giant toddler. But a confused one rather than a nasty one. So I need to help her out more & try and expect less from us both at this stage, and take her right back to basics. Which is the opposite to what my previous instructor said
. Anyway, we are going to do some intensive work with her over the next few weeks and try and work through it. Instructor thinks she will be fantastic if we get her to come right. (and I have always thought this)
so fingers crossed for us please!
Anyway, went out for a hack today and met up with Donadea and her beautiful Missie. Was a nice ride & we popped a few fences, though V did not take to Missie at all! At one point poor Missie was behind us & V did an almighty buck and caught poor S in the arm!
I was so embarrased (though how she managed to get her foot that high I don't know
) Personally I think V was just jealous because we found a horse as gorgeous as she is!
