equine vets and local vets had both been out to see him, done a standing sedation and could not find the 2nd offending article. Both had said the only option were to send him to the university equine hospital that is a few hours away and face a 4 figure bill, or pts.
not being able to afford the former and feeling pretty gutted about the latter option... i spoke to a few people locally and ended up calling a different local vets and speaking to a vet there who i had heard had done this surgery before. He confirmed this was the case and agreed to try it with my wee guy, with an agreed upper budget limit and consent on my part to pts if it wasnt going to be possible.
So feeling very nervous we dropped him off there this morning and I wasnt feeling too hopeful. SAid goodbye to my wee lad before I left. However I have just had a call to say it was very straightforward and was successfully completed for under my budget
Am chuffed to bits as he is a great wee boy This now means Charlie can have his buddy back, and hopefully his buddy will be less inclined to keep mounting him now! Best bit is the bill is only £249
