Update on my dog op today

Vet rang at 3pm to say Tommy's op was over and he is in recovery. The next few hours will be critical. She had to make a 12inch cut to get the tumour out and that tumour weighed about 4Kg !! We have to ring later to see how he's getting on.

Poor boy.

A bit more update.

OH rang ethe vet at 6pm and was told Tommy is doing very well and is awake and quite bright. He is on a drip and will stay overnight at the vets. They were going to try and get him up to go out to the toilet.

I have to ring tomorrow at 10am to see about him coming home.

As we have a boistrous 2 yr old GSD we are going to get the crate out of the garage so that when we are not home, Tommy can be away from him out of harm's way.

Glad to hear he's doing well - didn't want to post on this subject earlier, we lost our 10yo GSD in eerily similar circumstances almost a month ago - the op was just too much for her (the fact that she was the size of a cow anyhow didn't help!) and I am pleased you have had a happier ending.

Great news Boxers and fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

My cocker is, at this moment, having surgery for a cancerous growth and Im sitting here waiting for the vet to call me with news so I understand how you have been feeling.
