Update on my fire incident yesterday

Thankyou to everyone who replied on my post last night, I am very grateful to everyone who offered help and gave support.

Today we managed to organise accommodation for the cattle with a neighbouring farmer, and a very kind lady down the road from us has offered a stable for my horse for as long as I need it, which is a godsend.

My horse survived last night out in -20 very well - he was toasty warm this morning and still had hay left, so he only has to survive the same tonight and then he will be tucked up inside again.

Have borrowed a stack of rugs from someone which is also greatly appreciated, and went shopping and bought some essential bits and pieces so am ok to get by for the meantime.

Yeah 2nd moggy on that one - how is your FIL ? i hope he is not suffering with his chest and eyes but is probably sneezing horrid gunk at the mo.

Think you will have to give Mr Bull a new cow as a reward for being such a good "fire alarm" bless him" or do they like carrots and mints like the ponies do?
 
FIL is ok today, says he feels a little bit yuck, but he seems to be ok. We are all keeping a close eye on him. Hero that he is.

Gingerwitch, Mr Bull (eric) amongst all the chaos yesterday had his wicked way with one of our young heifers! which is a slight problem, so I think the vet can give her a jag which will get rid of a pregnancy. He is far to big and muscley a bull for her to ever manage to calve a calf to.

I think the bull would eat most things put in front of him given a chance.
 
When i was at livery in the North we had two bulls - i have never forgot the sight of one being lead like a lamb by his handler - yet they had a tractor at the front of him and one at the back- just incase he decided he wasn't playing nicely- he had hurt his leg and needed the vet (poor poor vet)- the cattle crush was never ever the same after that day !

Bless him - he deserved a good time yesterday - hope little miss is ok after her jab though.
 
Glad to hear you are getting things sorted out ok. Terrible thing to happen, but isn't it great how people pull together to help others out in times like this.

Thanks Mon - was going to phone BCMS and ask how to deal with the movement for this - the cattle arent being moved until tomorrow.

A lot of damage - half the steading will need to be rebuild. The roof is totally away on that part, the corner bit where I had my stables is just the walls left! I think the external wall will prob need to come down too as its all cracked etc
