This is my knabstrupper filly - she had her first canter today and a little hack out - never put a foot wrong - just had to share as so pleased with her.
Yes Rhino she's 3 1/2 but very mature - very easy to forget she's still young as she takes everything in her stride and loves her work. So am very aware not to overdo it. She's going to be a sweetheart which is just as well as I'm sixty next year and would not relish anything that was too sharp but equally I want something that is not a plod - I think she will fit the bill perfectly, only time will tell.
thank you, no thats not me on board (would be well chuffed if I looked that at my age lol!) I have a lovely girl who is doing the initial riding for me, until Holly is more confident - will be climbing aboard when she's been hacked out more - about another couple of weeks I should think.
Just seen this post and had to say how great she looks, you must be very proud. She seems to look better and better in every new pic I see. How big is she standing now? How was she to be backed?
Hi Spottyunicorn, Thank you - Have had a stick on her and she's 15.2 although rides much bigger, she's still got some growing to do, so prob end up at 16.00. She is going really well, although it been a long drawn out affair through the summer because of weather and swapping yards. However, I moved her to her permenant yard 2 weeks ago and now I can crack on with her. She is such a good girl and has finally settled in - I have a lovely girl who is helping me and also a very good friend who is a trainer who comes once a week. I rode her myself on friday and she is very balanced and so comfortable to ride for a youngster. I couldn't be more pleased with her - these knabbies are something special!!
Only 15.2 - that pic gives me the impression she is bigger than that so I'm surprised. My 2 year by Harley measured in at 16.1 on his 2nd birthday back in March and I swear he has grown a foot since then! Encouraging to hear that she is being a good girl, I'll be watching her progress with interest.
