Just a quick update for anyone who read my post yesterday about my horse who's been lame for 4 months with the vets not being able to find out what's wrong..
We were allowed to bring her home from the vets today, which both she and I were very glad about :) However the vets have pretty much exhausted everything they can do to investigate her lameness. She's had all the nerve blocks she can have in her whole leg (several times) which made no difference, she's had a bone scan, various x-rays, various ultra sound scans etc, she's had the bursar in her shoulder blocked...you get the picture. Nothing has shown up on any of these, the blocks make her more lame. However they're confident it's in her shoulder as this was shown by the bone scan. They now think that it must be a soft tissue injury but they're not sure on it's exact location within the shoulder or what may have caused it.
There is no treatment for the soft tissue problem so we now have a 9 month wait where she will be a field ornament, resting, at the end of the 9 months we will then re-assess the lameness and see what happens.
She may get better, she may not - we just don't know. The vet says she's confident she'll be better by then. However she said this in the beginning - that after a month she'd be fine - she wasn't, so not really going to get my hopes up.
It's upsetting because she's only 7 and in the end (if she comes right) she'll have had over a year off from proper work and this is the time where she should be out there experiencing things and learning :(
So fingers crossed for 9 months time..and thank you to everyone who sent vibes last night.

Poor you (and horse). It must be so frustrating playing the waiting game ....

Your horse obviously means the world to you and it's plain to see you have infinite patience. Let's hope that when the nine months is up you'll have a definitive answer and you'll be able to move forward, with any luck with a positive result then you'll be able to crack on.

Here are some more <<<vibes>>> to help you and your horse through the months ahead! :)
