Thank you for all of the advice in regards to my lame mare. I finally got my farrier out here. He was down with an injured back so that explains why he was not available.

She was fine the next day and the limping was gone but I still wanted her checked out. She has been given a clean bill of health and no abcess and the chip she had has been trimmed right out and was "nothing" I was told .

No explaianation for the day of lameness other than just having a mild bruise I guess. She was not overgrown in the least either so I am not sure what caused it other than maybe stepping hard on a rock. My worst fear was that she had a nail or something up in there but thankfully that does not appear to be the case.

I am just thankful she appears sound now and feel so much better. I will still keep her a bit more quiet than normal and keep an eye on her for awhile.

Thanks again

Marius is very often quite footsore after being shod, but it only lasts a day. I am pleased that your mare is fine now.
