I've made my mind up to go for it!

I fell in love with the horse immediately, and even though I was nervous as hell when I tried her and daren't do anything except walk round the school, I felt this is the horse that will give me back my confidence.

My plan is to take her on a month's trial, get to know her on the ground so we're completely happy with each other, and once I'm back to full health I'll get some lessons and may even go on to low level dressage.

I realised that the opportunity to have the use of a bombproof horse in a yard that's five minutes from work with the help and support of her owners and other people on the yard might not come along again for a long time, so I'd be stupid not to at least have a go, and if it all goes pear shaped I've not lost a shedload of money.

Thanks!

I really want to get on with things now, but I'm off sick at the moment following a minor op (minor but the anaesthetic knocked me for six, and I'm having lots of problems getting over it, losing my balance being one) and shouldn't even be walking round an air conditioned supermarket yet, let alone being around horses on a hot day, and we're going on our hols for a week, so I can't get cracking for at least two weeks.

I have to ring the girls' parents tonight to sort out the finer details, which is something else to get nervous about.

God, I'm so pathetic - since I got older everything seems to scare me!

That's fantastic news!!

Hope you recover soon, enjoy your holiday and then get your teeth into being a sharer - you will love it!!

Take care,

Rachel

Get well soon and enjoy your holiday. I hope you have lots of fun with your new share horse too. Sounds like a good arrangement.
