Well he has been here a week now. Such a dear gentle kind boy but quite shut down by the huge change for him.
He is enormous and at first I just wanted to cry at the weight his legs were trying to support. He does try to move but sits back down at every opportunity.
I have his diet sorted and have chosen yumove as a supplement.
My dogs have been good with him and he is interested at their running about.
He really cheered up yesterday when my daughter's lurcher came for the day. I don't think he had ever seen anything move so fast.
I am no good at posting pictures but dear Jennbags has put a few on the Morning Thread in the Club House.

I went and had a look, he looks quite bright and cheery. Lovely boy. Is he eating OK now? When my mum got her last preloved collie who had been fed Bakers, she wouldn't eat any normal food. It was probably like trying to get a child raised on McDs to eat brocolli! She had to gradually change her over in the end.

He came with a supply of Bakers but it even smells disgusting! When I saw the state of him, I scrapped the idea of a gradual change and just gave him a small amount of the new feed. He wasn't very hungry at first but ate up slowly. He eats perfectly now and funnily enough isn't greedy. He takes no notice when I am eating. I thought he would be scrounged especially with reduced rations.
Thanks for asking after him.

Aww bless him, he's looking pretty chipper in the photos and having your dogs and others will no doubt help to motivate him to move more, especially as his weight loss continues. I'm so pleased he is in safe hands now.

what a lovely guy Chiffy! Agree with everyone else that he looks happy around your other dogs, am sure that will continue to bring him out of his shell as well as getting him moving :)
