Police finally caught up with the man that threatened me and injured my horse out hacking.

Apparently he was very apologetic and embarrassed and said he will take more care in future going past horses.

Police said I could have him arrested if I wanted but I didn't want that, I just wanted him to realise the damage he could do and to make him think which I think a visit from the police has done.

Also he is in the middle of moving house so hopefully I won't be bumping into him in future.

Horse is also sound again, took him out for a hack today and it doesn't seem to have affected him.

So hopefully that's the end of it!! Thanks everyone for all your support :)
 
Zero tollerence for such people it the only way - You have to think you could now have saved a horse or a rider from a serious accident -Well done & thank you
 
I would have had him arrested as a lesson.

A few months ago I was taking my horse into the field which is on the other side of a B road. A woman came speeding down the hill towards us ON HER PHONE and came within 3ft of hitting my horses backend as he was still stood on the road while I opened the gate. I managed to get her registration - which shows just how much time she had to see me and slow down - and when the police spoke to her she too was very embarrassed, apologetic and apparently a 'horse lover'. That's all very well and good, but a week later she overtook me at speed on a blind bend! When I reported her again she denied that incident so it was her word against mine.

I now go everywhere with a helmet cam, as I have had incidents as long as my arm that could have done with police intervention but unfortunately there have been no witnesses and the driver denies it.
 
Some people never learn!!! But I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm seriously considering a head cam as the roads are getting worse and worse and people just aren't horse aware!! The ones I have looked at are so expensive tho
