I can not believe that Spike is now coming up for 6 weeks post op.

It really is amazing how much he has changed since his op. He just seems far more laid back and accepting of everything.

He has coped so well with his box rest and seems to have really enjoyed his walks out twice a day (sometimes too much!!!)

His wound has healed nicely and we have had a roller and long reins on him with very little problems.

We plan to turn him out in a small area for an hour or so on Tuesday and begin his pessoa rehab on Wednesday. We are pre-empting his behaviour and making sure we have someone by his head over the first few session. I have visions of him galloping flat out at the end of the lunge line!!!

So wich us luck on Wednesday - I think we will need it

Well he was bought for my OH and we bought him knowing he had issues with people getting on. We actually resolved these but he then turned to throwing him off everytime he rode. Tunrs out he had KS!!!! Hopefully all sorted now though. Makes a lot of sense really!

Thought that was the one! I remember when you posted and having been through similar it rang alarm bells! Mine was Sacroiliac injury unfortunately, which isnt actually treatable as such. But the same sort of symptoms!!!

Glad your boy is doing well.

One of ours had ks op and has just started ridden work - walk only. He has been really good the vet said that he would be able to event again. It was worth every penny.

That looks like it has healed really well, keep us updated on your progress - looks like my horse (the bay in my sig) may be having the surgery so am very interested in everyone's experiences.
seza - sounds great that your horse may be able to event again; I was hoping to start intro with mine this year but his back problems have scuppered any such thoughts. Would be wonderful to think he could possibly do that in future.
