Summer has been back for 2 weeks now and has been coping quite well with the box rest- infact she seems to always want to go back in after her walks/grazes! pherhaps she is agraphobic 
... or maybe its those lovley stuffed haynets and pony nuts tempting her!
The stitches came out today and she is off the bute, she has a walk/graze for up to an hour, twice a day- unfortunatly the odd leap and buck on the rope which isn't exactly helping a tendon injury but not much can be done about that...
The outlook was very bad and PTS was a highly probable option as it seemed really the leg was not going to get better and a sharp turn in the field could reinjure her ( and she really has her mad half hours!) which was absolutley devastating. But the vet has told us today that the prognosis is actually looking quite good now! he has sent the scans to vets in london and they think that the injury is actually not so bad, and she should come fully sound! (of course i am not getting my hopes up as i know how things can suddenly turn)
And jumping like she used to by this time next year, i can start riding in 6 weeks for 5 minutes in walk for a week, ten mins the next, 20 mins the next etc.. then introduce trot and see how it goes. I am looking in to ACell now too as anything that could work is worth a shot- as i have spoken to them and apparently DDFT has had sucsessful recoveries with it. so fingers crossed. The injury was very unusual apparently being in the distal medial margin or something.
